The Duval County Public Schools' Learning Village is an online virtual community for instructional materials development and collaboration created with teachers' needs in mind.

The DCPS Learning Village features-

  • An Instructional Organizer with tools that allows users to search for and create instructional materials (lesson plans, unit plans, activities, strategies, and resources) and assessments which correlate to state and local standards.
  • A district database that allows users to search for district common lessons and best practices.
  • A connected learning community where users may collaborate and share with other DCPS Learning Village members.
  • Anytime, Anywhere, Anyplace access with Internet connectivity.

The DCPS Learning Village contains an instructional organizer for each teacher to develop and maintain his/her own instructional materials. 2. After receiving the principal's or designee's approval, the instructional materials must be shared with the appropriate subject area supervisor through the Learning Village . At this time, the user must contact him/her to notify him/her of a desire to share the instructional materials with the entire district. A future version of the Learning Village will include a feature to automatically notify other users.
