Master In-service Plan
The Master In-Service Plan (M.I.P.) is a legal document that has met the local and state requirements. Duval County Public Schools Master In-service Plan was approved by the School Board and submitted to the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) for final approval. At the end of each school year, Duval County Public Schools must report all Master In-service activities (workshops/activities) to the FDOE electronically. The Master In-service Plan is a five year document that must be updated and approved annually by the Duval County School Board and the FDOE. It includes the Teacher Induction Program (T.I.P.), Comprehensive Plan for Non-certificated Personnel, Principal Preparation Program, etc. The plan also includes in-service educational components for all employees from all fund sources. The district provides training from the M.I.P. at no cost to the employees or schools. Master In-service Points can be used towards recertification of a Professional Teaching Certificate and/or Increase in pay. Before conducting any in-service training, a request must be submitted and approved prior to the start date. The Director of Recertification will review the submitted request for approval and/or disapproval.
