Extended Day Enrichment Program

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What programs are offered to my child during the before and after school enrichment programs?
A: Each school is different, so you would need to check with the school you are planning to enroll your child for this service.  However all of the programs do have homework, snack time, outside activities, and a tutorial focus for both mathematics and reading standards.  Extra curricular activities are selected by the school staff.
Q: What if my child's school does not offer before and after school programs?  Can they attend a program at another school?
A: No
Q: What is the School Board payment policy for Extended Day Program services?
A:

Parents have to pay for services in advance of receiving the services.  Payments are usually made during the month prior to service.  This is NOT a drop in service.  Students are registered for a full month (some schools do it every 2 weeks), not by the week or day.  Payments are required when a student is registered and must be made for the full amount (month or 2 weeks).

Q: How much does it cost for Extended Day?
A: Before school sessions are $13.00, after school sessions are $25.00 or both for $38.00 per week/per child?
Q: Does Extended Day run during school holidays?
A: No
Q: What are the hours of operations for Extended Day?
A: 7:00-8:30 in the morning and 3:00-6:00 in the afternoon
Q: Are there discounts for families with more than one child attending Extended Day?
A: No, we do not provide discounts as the fees for Extended Day programs in Duval County are priced below other Jacksonville Extended Day as well as Extended Day programs throughout the state.
Q: Are there any programs that assist families with Extended Day tuition?
A: The Jacksonville Children's Commission offers subsidies for qualified families who seek assistance with payments.
Q: Does the Extended Day program offer homework assistance?
A: Yes, the first hour of Extended Day requires students to complete homework assignments.
Q: How do I sign my child up for before and after school programs
A: Contact the school.
