Driver's education
Duval County Public Schools Summer Driver's Education
These programs are offered at ten different high schools around the county. The classes are scheduled by sessions throughout the summer. Students attend
six consecutive sessions from 7:15AM-2:45PM at one of
ten locations. Cost is $135.00 per student and registration is first come first serve. Register early to guarantee your seat in the class. Call the number at the school of your choice to register for the program.
Students must be 15 years or older to enroll in the class. The program design consists of:
- Classroom Work
- Driving Simulations
- Range Driving
- Street Driving
Students can receive a waiver to get a Learner's Permit and/or Permanent License if they pass the class. There is a written test plus a drug and alcohol test that must be passed to get the Learner's Permit. Students must pass a driving test to get the waiver for the Permanent License.
