Driver's education

Non-credit Driver Education Classes
The non-credit program for Driver's Ed in Duval County are offered after school at the following high schools:

The class is free for students of their respective schools. For adults or students from other schools, the cost is $160. The class last for 7 weeks with 6 hours of class time per week, usually 3:30-6:30 P.M. Classes include range driving, street driving, classroom work, and use of simulators.

Summer Driver's Education Programs
Summer fee-based classes are also offered at every high school. Participant enrollment determines whether a class will be held at the school. These classes run 6 straight weekdays and go from 7:15 A.M. until 2:45 P.M. and cost $160. Students are able to obtain waivers for the Learner's Permit and also for the regular driver license. These classes also consist of range driving, street driving, classroom participation, and simulator use. During the summer of 2010, 839 students participated in Driver Education classes.
