Welcome to Duval County Public Schools' online guide for new and potentially-new to dcps! When you change residences, whether you move across county lines or across the country, there is so much to learn about your new town. The one that tops most parents' lists is to find a great school for their children. If you are a parent who is new to the area, you came to the right place! Not only is our county one of the largest per square inch in the country, our district is one of the largest public school districts in the nation. And, we are striving to become the best.

Within our district, there are 183 schools (104 elementary schools, two K-8 schools, 24 middle schools, two 6-12 schools, 19 high schools, three exceptional student centers, one virtual school, seven alternative schools and 21 charter schools.) The district is divided into four clusters with a cluster chief heading up each one. Clusters 1 and 2 divide the K-5 schools. Cluster 3 and 4 divide the middle and high schools. We serve approximately 125,000 students who represent a diverse population.

On any given day, there are many wonderful things happening in schools throughout Duval County. In an effort to provide a glimpse into the many exciting educational activities that enhance student and parent involvement, each of Duval County schools has a presence on our web site.
