Completion of the Master Board Program

TO: Duval County Leadership Team

FROM: Andrea Messina, Director of Board Development, Florida School Boards Association, Inc.

SUBJECT: Completion of the Master Board Program

Congratulations! The Duval County leadership team has reinstated the distinction of Master Board by completing the 22-hour curriculum of the Master Board Program. Duval County now joins 34 other school districts who currently hold the distinction of Master Board. Each team member who participated in the program is to be commended for his or her commitment and dedication to attending the forum and onsite workshops for this valuable ongoing leadership training.

Attached is a record of the team's training activities and attendance roster for the program. I am pleased to confirm that the following members of the leadership team completed at least 16½ hours of training in the Master Board Program - Martha Barrett, Fred "Fel" Lee, Paula D. Wright and Rebecca "Becki" Couch. Official recognition for completion of Board Development Programs or Distinctions will occur during the FSBA Annual Spring Conference at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay in Tampa which is scheduled for June 13 - 15, 2012. The awards are scheduled for Friday, June 15, 2012, during the Breakfast/General Session II which begins at 8:00 am.

I appreciate the team's support of the Master Board Program and hope that the training has provided valuable knowledge and experiences. If maintenance training activities are desired by the leadership team, please do not hesitate to contact the FSBA office. I will be glad to coordinate the scheduling of such workshops under the auspices of the Board Development Program.

Again, congratulations on your team's achievement. I hope the entire leadership team will be able to attend the FSBA Annual Spring Conference in June 2012, to publicly receive this prestigious recognition.
