The Duval County Public Schools Communications Department serves the district's communication needs in the following areas:
Public Relations and Marketing
Chief of Public Relations and Marketing
Marsha oversees the public relations and marketing efforts within the Communications Department at Duval County Public Schools. She handles media inquiries, crisis communications and special events. Marsha supervises the internal and external communications within the district.
Mark is responsible for all marketing efforts of the district, and impelmenting
marketing efforts to schools and outside businesses and organizations.
Additionally, Mark coordinates overall branding, promotions, and advertising
efforts for district-wide academic programs,
business partnerships, internal and school initiatives.
Tia R. Ford
Supervisor, External Communications and Media Relations
Responsible for supervising development and distribution of district news, events,
special publications, and information to school employees, parents, and community members. Also
handles media and interview requests with district personnel.
Technical Manager, External Communications
Responsible for developing and communicating news, events, and information to school employees, parents, and community members by
distributing the district's new eNews, and publications.
Lisa A. Spofford
Technical Manager, Internal Communications
Responsible for all internal communications and graphic art objectives within the
district. Also provides web support for the district
and social media sites.
Also coordinates and scripts the presentations to
honor special achievements at the monthly meetings of
Duval County School Board.
Provides clerical support for the communication's department. She also coordinates the Good News Ambassador (GNA) program.
The GNA program, in conjunction with schools and district departments, helps to
create publicity for special events.
Web & Visual Communications
Supervisor, Web & Visual Arts
Manages and maintains the content of
the district website and provides support for the more than 160 school-based web sites.
Provides graphic design support for internal departments through the
creation of brochures, posters, booklets, etc.
Supervisor, Video Communications
Matt oversees all district video productions including the two monthly half-hour television shows: REAL School and School Matters. He works on special projects for the district and broadcasts the monthly School Board meetings that take place in the Cline Auditorium.
Matt and Vickie make up a dynamic video team. They have provided a new vision for the district television shows that are certain to benefit the students.
Coordinator, Video Communications
Vickie produces the following monthly half-hour television shows:
REAL School and
School Matters. The television production
coordinator also oversees the production of the
monthly school board meeting and produces the district's Public Service Announcements (PSAs)
and videos for internal clients.
Patricia Gilley and Janice Thomas
Patricia and Janice provide coverage for the district's switchboard.
