Principals, Teachers and Staff,
I want to thank each of you for taking the time to complete the survey to select a new Web/E-mail address for Duval County Public Schools. The response I received was overwhelming, and I appreciate each of you sharing your thoughts and concerns with me.
When the survey was distributed, we had two options to choose from, myduvalschools.org and duvalschools.info. Based on your votes, myduvalschools.org was the winner, however in e-mails sent to me, there was consensus that duvalschools.org would be a better fit, as this format is becoming mainstream for school districts across the nation.
Soon after the survey went out, I received an e-mail from a parent (Doug Liao) of one of our students that he owned the domain name duvalschools.org and would graciously give us this domain free of charge.
After reading your responses, and the favorable vote for myduvalschools.org, I have accepted Mr. Liao’s offer and our new domain will be duvalschools.org.
Starting February 1, our new Web address will be www.duvalschools.org and your new e-mail address will be username@duvalschools.org.
Your dreamsbeginhere.org e-mail will still be operative until the end of the school year, however in order to minimize spam messages, e-mail with the educationcentral.org address will no longer be operational and will be returned as undeliverable starting February 1.
