New Television Show Spotlights Florida Education and
Educators
Nicole Flesvig will host a
new television series called Teacher Talk: An Inside
Look at Florida Education starting February 8 at 10
a.m. and 10 p.m. on the Florida Education Channel. Teacher
Talk: An Inside Look at Florida Education is
produced in collaboration with the Florida Department of
Education and the Florida Education Channel.
Each month, Flesvig’s show
will feature a "Teacher Spotlight" segment which will
introduce Florida teachers and their innovations both in
and out of the classroom. Viewers will have the
opportunity to learn about what Florida schools and
school districts have to offer teachers and students
alike. The program will also highlight outstanding
resources for teachers, parents, and students, such as
the Florida Department of Education’s Just Read,
Florida! web site. Finally, in the “Best Practices
Spotlight,” Flesvig will take time to focus on the best
practices of teachers in various subject areas
throughout Florida’s education system. From time to
time, Teacher Talk will feature discussions on
hot topics in education, as well as legislative changes
affecting the K-12 education system.
Flesvig is currently the
Department of Education’s teacher liaison. Her job is
to communicate regularly with Florida teachers via the
"Just for Teachers" monthly newsletter and web site.
Flesvig is also a Florida certified teacher and taught
French language, literature and linguistics for 13
years. She has taught at both the secondary and
university levels, in public and private institutions.
In addition to this
television program, informational resources for teachers
can be found on the "Just for Teachers" web site located
on the Florida
Department of Education’s web site.
