2006/2007
Five Star School
16 Duval County public
schools were named Five Star Schools by the Florida
Department of Education (FLDOE). This symbol of
achievement is presented each year to those schools that
have shown evidence of exemplary community involvement
and is the FLDOE’s highest award for community
involvement.
The Five Star School Award
was created by the Commissioner's Community Involvement
Council and is presented annually to those schools that
have shown evidence of exemplary community involvement.
In order to earn Five Star school recognition, a school
must have earned a grade of “C” or above for the
2006-2007 school year and must show documentation that
it has achieved 100% of the established criteria in the
categories of: Business partnerships, Family
Involvement, Volunteerism, Student Community Service,
and School Advisory Councils.
Congratulations to Beauclerc,
Chets Creek, Crown Point, Enterprise, Fishweir, Ft.
Caroline, Greenfield, Greenland Pines, Jacksonville
Beach, Mandarin Oaks, Merrill Road, Normandy Village,
Oak Hill and Sabal Palm Elementary Schools; Mandarin
Middle School; and Mandarin High School for being named
Five Star Schools. |
