Voter Referendum for Property
Tax Reform
On January 29, 2008,
Floridians will be asked to vote on an amendment to the
State Constitution known as Amendment 1 that will
further entrench an already unfair property tax system.
The proposed amendment will provide the average Florida
homeowner with about $20 per month in relief, but would
result in devastating cuts to public education, as well
as other critical community services such as police,
fire and emergency services.

Duval County Public Schools
strongly opposes the passage of this proposed property
tax amendment, and we urge other voters to do the same
