Strategic Plan
For the past several months, DCPS’
staff has worked with a task force of the Alliance for
World Class Education to develop a long-range
Strategic Plan.
The plan is a road map for the work
of our school district during the next four years. It
spells out the board's vision, mission, core beliefs and
commitments. It also details six goals and specific
measurable strategies to reach them.
In addition to the approved
district Strategic Plan, we created a
Supplement with Initiatives and Actions that
provides information about how we plan to achieve our
objectives. This additional information is meant to help
everyone understand some of the specific steps we will
take to make improvements across all our schools. We
created this document to clarify some of the most
important steps we are taking, but the document does not
contain all of the work that the district and schools
will be doing. There are many more steps and a
tremendous amount of hard work going on in addition to
these actions that will also contribute to the success
of our students.
