Superintendent's Message: Happy
Thanksgiving
During this season of
thanksgiving, I would like to express my appreciation to
the more than 14,000 DCPS’ employees who make reaching
our mission of providing high quality educational
opportunities to all students possible.
From the teachers and other
school-based employees working on the front lines, to
the project managers in the Operations Department
ensuring that our structures are safe, to the computer
specialists at the TEAM Center ensuring our hardware and
software systems operate properly – it takes every last
employee to pull it off.
Proof of our success and that
we are moving toward our goal of being the best large
urban school district came last month when the Quality
Assessment Review Team from the AdvancED/Southern
Association of Colleges and Schools recommended that we
be awarded district accreditation, "without
reservation," as a quality school system.
As we reflect on the trials
and triumphs of this year, let us all be thankful for
our many blessings. I am fortunate to be the
Superintendent of this wonderful school district, and am
thankful for each of you.
Respectfully,
Ed Pratt-Dannals
