As you are aware, there have been numerous confirmed cases of the new Novel Influenza A (H1N1) virus (also called Swine Flu) reported across the United States, as well as in Duval County. Our school district works closely with the local, state and national health agencies to investigate any illnesses and/or infections.

Community Empowerment Expo: Building a Pathway to Prosperity
On Saturday, September 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the City of Jacksonville will host the Community Empowerment Expo at the Downtown main library, 303 N. Laura St. Event workshops include: Financial Fitness, Foreclosure Prevention, Managing Your Health and much more.

Volunteers needed for 2009 Florida Coastal Cleanup
On Saturday, September 19, from 7-11 a.m., volunteers are needed to participate in the 2009 Florida Coastal Cleanup. There are several cleanup locations throughout the beaches area. Participants must be over 18 or accompanied by an adult. Service hour certificates will be provided for students.
