DCPS Winter Holiday Schedule
Dec. 17 - 23
Schools are closed, but district offices are open. All 12-month (261 days) employees and all 10-month clerical, 10-month district
custodial and 10-month security guards are scheduled to work this week.
Dec. 24 - Jan. 1
Schools and district offices are closed. All district and school-based employees are off and no one has to take leave. The only
exception to this would be if there is an emergency and an employee is called in to work, or there is an agreement between a supervisor
and an employee to work during this period.
City of Jacksonville Presents "Movies in the Park"
This Friday, December 18, the City of Jacksonville's Recreation and Community Services presents "Movies in the Park"
from 6 - 9 p.m.
Come out and enjoy a free family friendly movie inside the Dinsmore Community Center, 7126 Civic Club Drive.

On Friday, January 8, 2010, from 7 - 9:30 a.m. the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce will host the 23rd
Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast at the Prime Osborn Convention Center, 1000 Water St.

Teaching as a Second Career Workshops
DCPS’ Recruitment and Customer Relations Office, along with Florida State College at Jacksonville and the
universities of Florida and North Florida, will host several “Teaching as a Second Career” workshops for those interested
in teaching children and impacting the future.
Workshops will be held January 19, February 11 and March 4, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., at the Schultz Center for
Teaching and Leadership, 4019 Boulevard Center Drive. To learn more about the workshops, visit
