Academic and Community Excellence Plan Transportation meetings

To accommodate current and future student transportation needs of our students, we formed an Academic and Community Excellence (ACE) - Transportation Working Group to facilitate a community based consensus-building and planning process that has reviewed school transportation in our district.

Initial ideas discussed by different groups included utilizing new zones or standardized trunk routes for magnet transportation, reducing or eliminating after school activity trips, and extending the walking distance from 1.5 to 2 miles for high schools, middle schools, and/or elementary schools.

Public meetings regarding the potential scenarios for transportation in 09/10 will be discussed at 6 p.m. February 17 at Raines High School and February 19 at Twin Lakes Academy Middle School.
