National School Bus Safety Week Poster Contest
The National Association for Pupil Transportation invites all public, private and parochial school students in
grades K-8 to participate in the National School Bus Safety Week Poster Contest.
Posters and slogans must harmonize with the 2009 poster contest theme “Cross in View, It’s the Right
Thing to Do!” and must contain original drawings, have a positive approach that demonstrates proper school bus safety behavior and
be the exclusive work of the student.
The deadline for submissions is Sept. 18, 2009, and all submissions should be sent to the Florida Department of
Education, School Transportation Management, 325 W. Gaines St., Room 824, Tallahassee, Fla., 32399-0400.

Jacksonville Welcomes New State College
Florida Community College at Jacksonville has evolved to become Florida State College
at Jacksonville (FSCJ) to fulfill a special mission as a premiere learning institution, and become Jacksonville's icon for producing
graduates who are trained and prepared for work.

Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra Sound Check Card
The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra (JSO) is offering a great deal for students of all ages, the Sound Check Card.
Students of all ages can purchase the Sound Check Card for only $25 and attend all Masterworks, Coffee and Friday Fusion concerts for
the entire season.
The JSO would love to extend this offer to all students in the area, and hopes that teachers, music programs and
student publications will help spread the news about this opportunity for students to experience the arts in Jacksonville.
