2007 FCAT Results for Reading and
Mathematics for Third Through Tenth Grade
and Science for Grades five, eight, and eleven
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., May 23, 2007 --The Florida
Department of Education announced today
the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT)
results for grades three through 10 in reading and
mathematics and grades 5, 8 and 11 in science.
“These latest FCAT results tell us that we are
growing in many schools in many subject areas. As
the state continues to raise the achievement cut
scores, there’s evidence of progress. If you look at
our scores across the district, you may conclude
that we’ve faired pretty well. However, if you take
a closer look at individual schools, you’ll see that
although we may be growing in lots of places, we are
not growing fast enough. We must accelerate our work
school by school,” said Superintendent Dr. Wise.
