Wolfson High School to Offer Free Summer Math Training
JACKSONVILLE - Rising ninth-grade students entering Samuel W. Wolfson High School will have the opportunity to strengthen their math skills by participating in the school’s two-week Summer Bridge Program from Monday, July 21 through Friday, Aug. 1.
The Wolfson Math Summer Bridge Program will include 10 teachers working with the students, preparing them for Algebra I and Geometry, teaching essential math skills.
“Research has shown that Algebra I is a foundational course that students must successfully complete in order to meet the demands of more rigorous mathematics later in high school,” said Wolfson Principal Hammond Gracy. “Our Summer Bridge Program represents an important shift in the approach to ensuring student academic achievement gains.”
Students will also learn successful high school transition activities and important life skills, such as time management, test taking strategies and effective study habits.
For more information or to register for this program, parents/guardians or students should contact Wolfson’s Assistant Principal David Harris at 904.739.5265 Ext. 141.
