Media Advisory: District Accreditation
WHO:
Duval County Public Schools (DCPS), the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) and Advance Ed.
WHAT:
DCPS is seeking district accreditation to corroborate our district’s efforts to provide quality education for all of our students and recognize our accomplishments.
A Quality Assurance Review Team (QART) is visiting Duval County this week to evaluate and confirm our work. Receiving district accreditation will validate how well all of the parts of the education system – the district, school and classroom – work together to meet the needs of students. It provides a comprehensive framework for continually improving student achievement and district performance.
The visit culminates at a special Board meeting where the QART will share their findings and determination on accreditation.
