Duval County School Board Recognizes
Teacher, Staff, Schools and Business Partners
JACKSONVILLE - At the monthly meeting of the Duval County School Board, Board members and Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals recognized staff members and a member of the business community for their outstanding accomplishments and contributions to Duval County Public Schools (DCPS).
During the presentation portion of the meeting, which began at 6 p.m. in the Cline Auditorium, 1701 Prudential Drive, the following people were recognized:
- Wachovia Bank was honored for their business partnership with Sallye B. Mathis Elementary School;
- Brenda Jones, teacher at William M. Raines High School, was recognized for being named a Community First Credit Union’s Teacher of the Week;
- Duval County Public Schools’ Business Services Department was recognized for receiving the Governmental Finance Officers Association’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting and the Association of School Business Officials International’s Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for their Comprehensive annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2007; and
- The following 18 Duval County Public Schools were recognized for being named 2007-2008 Five Star Schools:
