Duval County School Board Recognizes Employees
and Community Member during Monthly Meeting
At the monthly meeting of the Duval County School Board, Board members and Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals recognized staff members and a member of the business community for their outstanding accomplishments and contributions to Duval County Public Schools (DCPS).
During the presentation portion of the meeting, which began at 6 p.m. in the Cline Auditorium, 1701 Prudential Drive, the following people were recognized:
- Bank of America was honored for their mentoring and volunteerism to Duval County Public Schools;
- Darnell-Cookman and James Weldon Johnson middle schools were recognized for being named 2008 No Child Left Behind – Blue Ribbon Schools;
- Timothy Kenney, fifth-grade teacher at Mandarin Oaks Elementary School, was honored for being named one of three state finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching; and
- Superintendent Pratt-Dannals was presented with a certificate on behalf of the 75 Duval County Public Schools who were granted the Southeast Rebuild Collaborative ‘Met the Challenge’ Award in recognition of their commitment to superior energy performance.
