Media Advisory: Powerful Stories, Gentle Voices
Duval County Public Schools welcomes the following Jacksonville residents and central figures in our history as they share a conversation entitled "Powerful Stories, Gentle Voices" with Duval County's educators:
- Henri Landwirth, a Holocaust survivor and founder of Give Kids The World and Dignity U Wear;
- Civil rights activist Alton Yates, who was attacked during a lunch counter sit-in in 1960 on what became known as Ax Handle Saturday; and
- Paula Coughlin, one of the 83 victims of sexual assault during the 1991 Tailhook convention of naval aviators.
