Duval County School Board recognizes students, staff
and a faith-based organization during monthly meeting
JACKSONVILLE - At the monthly meeting of the Duval County School Board, Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals and Board members recognized students, staff and a faith-based organization for their outstanding accomplishments and contributions to Duval County Public Schools.
During the presentation portion of the meeting, which began at 6 p.m. in the Cline Auditorium, 1701 Prudential Drive, the following people were recognized:
- Jackie Cornelius, principal of Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, was honored for being named Florida Network of Arts Administrators’ 2009 Arts Administrator of the Year in the Arts-specific category;
- First Baptist Church of Jacksonville was recognized for the contributions and volunteer efforts given to the students and staff of Duval County Public Schools; and
- The following students were honored for being named semifinalists in the 2009 National Achievement Scholarship Program:
