District Launches American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Section of Web site
Duval County Public Schools (DCPS) has launched a new section of its
Web site dedicated to information about the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), signed into law on Feb. 17, 2009 by President Barack Obama.
Through this law, more than $100 billion was appropriated for education programs, including $53.6 billion for a State Fiscal Stabilization Fund. Additionally, Title I received $13 billion in new funding; Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) received $12.2 billion; the Teacher Incentive Fund received $200 million; and support for the development of statewide longitudinal data systems received $250 million.
The Web site is a one-stop shop for all DCPS' stakeholders to gather information on the ARRA-related initiatives and grants the district is pursuing, and contains the following information: the descriptions, statuses and milestones of district ARRA initiatives and/or grants; ARRA
surveys for stakeholders to provide their valuable input on future use of ARRA funding; an electronic version of the district ARRA newsletter; and other relevant information.
For more information, visit the ARRA section of the Web site
here.
