Media Advisory: Fall Carnivals

WHAT:
To help promote family and community involvement, DCPS' elementary schools will be hosting Fall Carnivals.

WHEN & WHERE:

• Friday, October 16, 2009, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Fort Caroline Elementary, 3925 Athore Dr., Jacksonville, FL 32277.

  There will be games, a Bake Walk, silent auction and a variety of food for purchase. Tickets available at the event. For more information, contact the school at 904-745-4904.

• Friday, October 16, 2009, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Jacksonville Heights Elementary, 7750 Tempest St. S., Jacksonville, FL 32244, 904-573-1120.

• Friday, October 16, 2009, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Lone Star Elementary, 10400 Lone Star Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32225, 904-565-2711.

• Saturday, October 17, 2009, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Alimacani Elementary, 2051 San Pablo Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32224.

  There will be a variety of games and activities, along with a pumpkin patch and a unique scarecrow auction. Concession stands will offer a variety of food. Tickets and wristbands available. For more information, contact the school at 904-221-7101.

• Friday, October 23, 2009, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Louis Sheffield Elementary, 13333 Lanier Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32226.

• Friday, October 23, 2009, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Stockton Elementary, 4827 Carlisle Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32210.

  Food, games, ponies, giant slides, dunking booths and much more await everybody who attends this family fun activity.

• Saturday, October 24, 2009, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fishweir Elementary, 3977 Herschel St., Jacksonville, FL 32205.

There will be a giant slide, fire truck, karaoke singing, silent auction and carnival-type games. For more information, contact the school at 904-381-3910.

• Friday, November 6, 2009, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Chaffee Trail Elementary, 11400 Sam Caruso Way, Jacksonville, FL 32221, 904-693-7510.

• Friday, November 13, 2009, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Sabal Palm Elementary, 1201 Kernan Blvd. N., Jacksonville, FL 32225, 904-221-7169. (Festival will be located in the north parking lot off Ashley Melisse.)

  Featuring Bruster's Ice Cream & coupon books, Chick-fil-A sandwiches, raffle tickets, hay rides, bouncy houses, face painting, and more than two dozen games and activities!

  Food & drinks, and table rentals will be available. Advance sale of wristbands ($10 or $12) the night of the festival. Food vouchers are available in 50 cent increments as well and are needed for all food items. Advance purchasing is highly recommended!
