Duval County School Board recognizes a student, staff
members and business partners during monthly meeting
Jacksonville, FL - During the presentation portion of the monthly meeting of the Duval County School Board, Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals and Board members recognized the following student, staff members and business partners for their outstanding accomplishments and contributions to Duval County Public Schools:
- Joseph Crayne, a sixth-grade student at LaVilla School of the Arts, was recognized for being named the statewide winner in the PTA’s 2008-2009 Reflection Program’s intermediate film division;
- Teachers, Georgiana Graves, Central Riverside Elementary and Matthew Peterson, Arlington Elementary, were recognized for their participation in the Florida Technological Research and Development Authority’s 2009 Teacher Quest Program;
- The Jacksonville Fraternal Order of Police and the American Heart Association were recognized for their donation of 36 automated external defibrillators to Duval County Public Schools;
- HandsOn Jacksonville was recognized for their contributions to Duval County Public Schools, including their annual “Visit from St. Nicholas” event aimed to promote literacy and provide holiday gifts to students attending Duval County elementary turnaround schools; and
- Comcast was recognized for providing more than 1,700 in-kind hours to the Teacher Supply Depot, and for their monetary contribution of more than $7,000.
