Duval County Public Schools' Students Win Earth Day Poster Contest
Jacksonville - The City of Jacksonville’s Environmental Protection Board (EPB) recently announced that several Duval County Public Schools' (DCPS) students were winners in its 19th Annual Earth Day poster contest.
The contest, open to all Duval County students in grades K-12, celebrated the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. This year’s theme was “Earth Day 40 – Making a Difference.”
“I am very proud of these students for participating in this very important competition,” said DCPS’ Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals. “This contest allowed our students to demonstrate how individual actions can make a difference in their local environment.”
Winners of the city-wide competition were awarded $150 for first place, $100 for second place and $50 for third place. All winners received their award checks during the Earth Day Celebration held at the Jacksonville Landing on Saturday.
