Duval County School Board recognizes
teachers and school during monthly meeting
In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, May 3-7,
2010, Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals and members of the
Duval County School Board recognized the following
teachers and school for their outstanding
accomplishments and contributions to Duval County Public
Schools (DCPS):
- Robert E. Lee High School’s Engineering Academy
was recognized for receiving “Model” status by the
National Career Academy Coalition;
- Zachary Champagne, a fourth-grade teacher at
Mandarin Oaks Elementary, was recognized for being named
Duval County’s 2010 Teacher of the Year, as well as one
of five finalists for the Macy’s/Florida Department of
Education Teacher of the Year Award; and
The following teachers were recognized for
receiving certification through the National Board for
Professional Teaching Standards:
