Two Duval County Public Schools' Students Awarded $2,000 Scholarships

Jacksonville - The Duval Association of Educational Office Professionals (DAEOP) recently announced that two Duval County Public Schools’ students are the recipients of its annual scholarship.

Jaymee Hindawi, Paxon School for Advanced Studies, and Samantha Solada, Nathan B. Forrest High School, will each receive $2,000 to go toward their college expenses.

For the past 12 years, the DAEOP has performed various fundraisers in an effort to collect money to distribute to deserving seniors attending Duval County public high schools.

To qualify, students had to be a graduating high school senior who has made application to continue their education and be enrolled as a part-time or full-time student in a post-secondary institution of higher education.

Both Jaymee and Samantha will be recognized and presented their awards during a special dinner on May 25, 2010.

Duval County Public Schools, the nation's 21st largest school district, operates 166 schools and serves approximately 123,000 students. The school district is committed to providing high quality educational opportunities that will inspire all students to acquire and use the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a global economy, and culturally diverse world.
