Duval County School Board recognizes students, schools
and a volunteer during monthly meeting
Jacksonville - During the presentation portion of the monthly meeting of the Duval County School Board, Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals and Board members recognized students, schools and a volunteer for their outstanding accomplishments and contributions to Duval County Public Schools (DCPS):
- The following school PTA/PTSA chapters were recognized for increasing their 2009-2010 membership by 100 or more over the previous school year:
- Douglas Anderson School of the Arts
- Chimney Lakes Elementary
- Crystal Springs Elementary
- Jefferson Davis Middle
- Englewood High
- Garden City Elementary
- James Weldon Johnson Middle
- Kirby-Smith Middle
- Landmark Middle
- Robert E. Lee High
- Julia Landon Middle
- Merrill Road Elementary
- San Pablo Elementary;
- The following schools were recognized for their efforts during DCPS and Duval Teachers United 2009 United Way Campaign:
- Andrew Jackson High
- Annie R. Morgan Elementary
- First Coast High
- Greenfield Elementary
- Highlands Elementary
- Parkwood Heights Elementary
- Paxon Middle
- Twin Lakes Academy Middle;
- John Sornberger was recognized for more than 14 years of volunteer service to the district’s Teacher Supply Depot; and
- Jeremiah Cesar and Malik Jackson, 2010 graduates of Jean Ribault High School, were recognized for receiving their International Baccalaureate Diplomas
