Duval County School Board Recognizes Schools, a Teacher
and Principal During Monthly Meeting
Jacksonville, FL - During the presentation portion of the monthly meeting of the Duval County School Board, Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals and Board members recognized schools, a teacher and principal for their outstanding accomplishments and contributions to Duval County Public Schools:
- The following schools were recognized for receiving the Superintendent’s PTA/PTSA Awards:
- James Weldon Johnson;
- Mandarin High;
- Neptune Beach Elementary;
- Terry Parker High; and
- West Riverside Elementary
- LaShawn Streater, principal of Seabreeze Elementary, was recognized for being selected as the Duval Art Teachers Association- Principal of the Year;
- Tim Kenney, district math coach and former teacher, was recognized for receiving the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching; and
Duval County Public Schools operates 172 schools and serves approximately 123,000 students. The school district is committed to providing high quality educational opportunities that will inspire all students to acquire and use the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a global economy, and culturally diverse world.
