Media Advisory - Parent University Fall 2011
WHAT:
DCPS' Title I Office is sponsoring Parent University Fall 2011 at Florida State College of Jacksonville Downtown Campus (FSCJ). Parents and caregivers of students, who attend a Title I school, are invited to register and attend this free event. Parent University will offer classes designed to be informative, interactive and fun for parents.
Workshop topics will include:
- Obtaining Success with FCAT In Reading, Math and Writing for Elementary, and Secondary Years;
- Duval Virtual School: Online Secondary Option;
- Florida Assessments in Instruction in Reading (F.A.I.R.);
- Parent Advocacy: The Piece of the Puzzle for Student Success;
- High School EOC (End-of-Course assessments) & FCAT;
- Preparing Your Child for College;
- S.T.E.M. : Focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math; and
- Zumba: Family Fitness
Title I parents and caregivers may register by calling the DCPS Parent RSVP Line at 633-5356.
