Fletcher Middle School's Annual Evening
of Science
WHAT:
Fletcher Middle School is hosting its annual evening of science, showcasing this year’s theme “Science in our Community.” The evening features opportunities to meet local leaders who use science to improve and appreciate the environment.
Guests will include:
• Jacksonville University Marine Science Institute;
• Mayport Coastal Sciences Middle School;
• Florida State College at Jacksonville Science Department;
• Fletcher High School chemistry students;
• Amelia Island Nature Preserve;
• Riverkeepers;
• Southland Recycling Services; and
• Several local authors of age-appropriate books
DCPS’ high school volunteers and Fletcher Middle PTSA will lead activities at this family event that encourage more participation in exploring the science world. Fletcher Middle’s Green Team from the Student Senators’ service organization will inform the public of ways to promote a healthy environment and help the school to stay green.
