Media Advisory - Martin Luther King, Jr. Flash Mob
WHAT:
Douglas Anderson School of the Arts’ Issue-Based Theatre class, in order to honor the memory of Martin Luther King, Jr., is staging a Flash Mob Tribute to the values that Dr. King espoused.
The students of Theatre instructor Bonnie Harrison will freeze in place, then suddenly stand up and create a tableau that draws everyone’s attention to their message.
The focus will switch to different students, with a new message – often proclaimed, sometimes displayed on their raised arms. Each student will pay tribute to M.L.K. in a brief but interesting way.
The Flash Mob will conclude with the raising of a banner, proclaiming “I Have A Dream,” and students will be invited to write their own personal dreams on the banner.
