Media Advisory - Author Rodney Hurst to Visit Darnell-Cookman

WHAT:
Local author and blogger, Rodney Hurst, will visit students at Darnell-Cookman Middle/High School in honor of Black History Month. Mr. Hurst will meet with students in small groups to discuss his personal experiences during the Civil Rights movement.

Mr. Hurst will share memoirs from his book, “It Was Never About a Hotdog and a CokeŽ.” As former President of the Jacksonville Florida Youth Council NAACP, Rodney Hurst experienced extreme violence during sit-in demonstrations.
