Media Advisory – The Honorable W.C. Gentry to Congratulate Greenfield Elementary on Crayola Art Grant
WHAT:
The Honorable W.C. Gentry, School Board member, and Dr. Donnie Horner,
Jacksonville’s Education Commissioner, will congratulate students at Greenfield
Elementary on receiving the “Champion Creatively Alive Children” school grant.
The award includes a $2,500 Crayola grant and $500 worth of Crayola products.
Greenfield Elementary’s students plan to use the art grant as a medium for
studying the history and culture of Jacksonville.
Greenfield Elementary was awarded the grant from among hundreds of schools that
applied based on the innovative ideas proposed for infusing art into learning.
Principal Art Lauzon will share the outcomes of its art program vie Crayola’s
website to inspire other principals and educators with ways they can integrate
art into various subjects.
