Media Advisory - Duval County Students Get College Experience in AP Scholars Summer Academy
WHAT:
Several Duval County Public Schools' students will have the opportunity to experience college life by joining in the weeklong activities of the AP Scholars Summer Academy at Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) South Campus.
The AP Scholars Summer Academy prepares students for the challenges and rigor of college coursework with an introduction to the skills and knowledge needed for academic success. Students who attend the AP Scholars Summer Academy will immerse themselves in the Advanced Placement culture, preparing them for their high school AP courses.
The academy is open to all Duval County Public Schools' students entering ninth-grade who are qualified to enroll in Advanced Placement Human Geography during the 2012-13 school year.
Following a week of unique learning activities, students will take a college campus tour of FSCJ with campus staff. Media is welcome to attend the tour with students on Friday, July 27 at 8:30 a.m.
