Media Advisory - Million Father March
WHAT:
Duval County Public Schools will take part in the nationwide Million Father March. The Million Father March encourages fathers and father-figures to take students to school on the first day. More than 1,000,000 men and 800 cities are expected to participate in this national initiative.
Students will be inspired seeing their fathers and male role models taking time out of their morning to bring them to school. As the men arrive at school, they will be greeted by banners, stickers, refreshments and a warm welcome from the school staff.
The Million Father March will continue throughout the year as the men are encouraged to remain active volunteers at their children's school.
