Media Advisory - Mayport Elementary Participates in Right Whale Festival
WHAT:
Mayport Elementary Coastal Sciences Academy is partnering with Cheryl Bonnes of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association and Jessica Koelsch of the Sea to Shore Alliance to promote the fourth annual Right Whale Festival. First-grade students and their parents will be manning the booth at the festival.
This one-day festival will feature a beach cleanup, activities for children, music, food, and displays geared toward informing and inspiring the community about right whales, their habitat and their conservation needs.
Each winter right whales migrate south along the east coast of the U.S. to give birth and raise their calves in our warm coastal waters before returning to their feeding grounds by early April.
