Arlington Elementary School's Safety Patrols Meet Hillary Clinton in a Chance Encounter

In June, safety patrols from Duval County schools embarked on a trip to our nation’s Capital to soak up the sights and sounds and to celebrate their successes after a year of hard work. The Jacksonville Safety Patrol trip was sponsored by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, and supplemented by funds raised through individual school’s safety patrol fundraising campaigns. While in Washington, several safety patrols from Arlington Elementary School had the rare opportunity to meet former First Lady, current New York Senator, and Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton. While attending a ceremony at the Marine Corps War Memorial, one of the chaperones waded through the massive crowd when she noticed Senator Clinton and asked her to take a picture with the students. The chaperone was successful! Senator Clinton took the time to meet the Arlington Elementary students and pose for a photograph with them. This is one chance encounter, which the students will never forget!
