College-bound students from throughout Duval County attended College Goal Sunday on February 24 to learn about financial aid, and 14 of them walked away with scholarships that will help cover some of those college costs.
College Goal Sunday is a free statewide annual workshop that provides students and their families with expert assistance filling out important financial aid forms, specifically the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
145 students and 215 family members attended the Jacksonville event, which was held at the Florida Community College Advanced Technology Center. Their attendance automatically qualified them for the scholarship drawings.
