The efforts of
the DCPS' Office of Community and Family Engagement were boosted Oct. 31 when the Jacksonville office of the Federal Reserve Bank hosted an informational breakfast.
Chris Oakley, vice president and regional executive for the bank, welcomed attendees to the
executive dining room and detailed his organization's interest in public education in general and financial literacy in particular. He said the current economic situation demands that America’s youngest citizens understand the monetary system and responsible fiscal management.
Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals, Chief of Staff and Partnerships Dr. Alvin G. White, Director of Community and Family Engagement Dr. Constance Hall and Duval County School Board member Martha Barrett each spoke and endorsed the importance of business partnerships with Duval County's schools.
After the breakfast, some of the attendees toured the high-security facility on Water Street.
