The Florida Thespian Society has selected Jackie Cornelius, principal of Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, as its Administrator of the Year. Ms. Cornelius was chosen unanimously from a field of more than a dozen administrators.
The Florida Thespian Society, which is affiliated with the International Thespian Society, honors student excellence in the theater arts. The Administrator of the Year award is a way for the society to highlight educators who support the theater arts.
Ms. Cornelius was praised for recognizing the work of her theater teachers and for her unique understanding of the contribution theater plays in her school’s curriculum.
