Upcoming Event: Jacksonville Human Rights Commission's 'Know Your Rights' Program

The Jacksonville Human Rights Commission is sponsoring a program for working youth between the ages of 16 and 21. The purpose of the program is to help these young workers understand and explore their rights and responsibilities in the workplace.

The event is free to the public. Team Gaia, a local youth organization comprised of some Duval County Public Schools students, will present skits which demonstrate:

  • Proper dress in the workplace
  • Avoiding statements and actions associated with sexual harassment
  • Understanding your workplace rights (religious expression, culture, race, etc.)
  • Unfair treatment in the workplace

The 'Know Your Rights' Program will be on Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Main Branch of the Jacksonville Public Library, 303 N. Laura Street.

To register or for more information, call 904-630-4620 or download the flyer.
