Employees of the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront showed their support for early education by reading Corduroy to the Pre-kindergarten Class at John Love Elementary for its Jumpstart Read for the Record Campaign on October 2.
In addition to reading the book, Hyatt employees, along with Brandy Allport from The Florida Times-Union, helped the students make Corduroy puppets. Hyatt Chef Carlos made Corduroy teddy bear cookies for the students to enjoy.
For their participation, each student received a certificate, photos with Corduroy and a copy of the book.
“The John Love Prekindergarten Class had a “beary” good morning and we thank the Hyatt for all of their Corduroy treats,” said teachers Beth Sullivan and Lisa Gadson. “The children enjoyed this special reading experience.”
