On May 6, Central Riverside Elementary had a record crowd to attend this year's final Parent Literacy Night, hosted by WJCT. The monthly reading strategies session for families is led by community volunteer and Duval County Public Schools' employee, Jane Belz.
Norman Bridwell, author of Clifford the Big Red Dog, was the featured author study for the evening. Families made Clifford ears and enjoyed ice cream sundaes.
Every student in attendance was allowed to take home a book to read over the summer.
