More than 150 readers participated in this year's Read-A-Thon on May 20 and 21.
The Read-A-Thon has become an annual event at Loretto, and is a way for adult volunteers to come in to the classroom and demonstrate their love of reading by sharing a book with students.
Guest readers included parents, business owners, business partners and many others.
After meeting students during a welcome reception, the volunteers received their reading schedules and were escorted by students to classrooms. Volunteers then spent time reading their favorite stories to students in several classrooms.
"The Read-A-Thon is an event we all enjoy," said Jackie Sneddon, school instructional coach. "It helps instill a love of reading in our students."
