Douglas Anderson Students Depict the St. Johns River
Students from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts will unveil their newest exhibit, New View: The Many Faces of the St. Johns River, at the Downtown Art Walk on Wednesday, March 5, at 6 p.m. in the third-floor exhibit area of the Main Library.

More than 125 students created their interpretation of the St. Johns River in a 30-foot mixed-media mural, which includes paintings, sculptures, photography and printmaking.

The mural will be on exhibit at the Main Library until March 22, and then will travel to multiple venues throughout Jacksonville accompanied by a wide variety of programs for children, families and adults.

Hendricks Avenue Elementary School Teacher's Artwork on Display
Julie Harris, the art teacher at Hendricks Avenue Elementary, has sculptural work titled Paper Doll Clothes on display at the Jacksonville Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in the First Coast Portfolio exhibition.

The First Coast Portfolio is an annual juried exhibition designed to showcase the latest work by art educators teaching in public or independent schools in the surrounding counties.

Harris is an active artist within the Jacksonville community, and has had her work exhibited in the city's museums. In 2007, her photography was featured in The St. John's River: Captured through the Lens at the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens traveling exhibition.

Paper Doll Clothes will be on display until March 23.
